21st Governing Council Meeting

The Governing Council of PetroFed at its 21st meeting on December 07, 2009 welcomed M/s. SAS Institute India Pvt. Ltd. and PMI Organisation Centre Pvt. Ltd. as new members under the Ordinary Member category.

PetroFed now has 57 members.

The Governing Council ratified the revised budget estimates for 2009-10 and approved the original budget estimate (capital and revenue) for 2010-11.

It expressed its appreciation on learning that the issue of amendments to the Pipelines Act to make punishment for pilferage and sabotage more stringent as proposed by the industry through PetroFed is likely to be introduced during the Winter Session of Parliament.

It was noted that as the 11 PetroFed Awards in nine categories have completed three years since their institution in 2007, a comprehensive review is being undertaken for modification of the scheme and for addition of more categories of awards, as deemed necessary.

The Governing Council took note of the actions taken and being planned with respect to Goods & Services Tax, Direct Tax Code Bill, WTO matters and programmes on Industry Academia Interface.
