"19th Governing Council Meeting"

The Governing Council of PetroFed at its 19th meeting at New Delhi on April 16, 2009 at the outset complimented the Director General and his team for a well organised PetroFed Awards 2008 function earlier in the day and carrying out the entire exercise of PetroFed Awards in a very professional manner.  The Awards, they said, are in recognition of excellence in various facets for oil companies operating in the Indian oil & gas sector.

The Governing Council appreciated the increasing activities of PetroFed and took particular note of the Stakeholder Consultation on Energy Services organised under the aegis of the Department of Commerce, Government of India and in knowledge partnership with ICRIER and the Centre for WTO Studies to obtain inputs for a broad-based trade and investment agreement between India and the European Union.

It also noted actions to be taken after the setting up of the Nodal Agency For Oil & Gas (NAFOG) by MoP&NG to be spearheaded by PetroFed.

The Governing Council noted the progress on PetroFed’s representation to MoP&NG for amendments to the Petroleum & Minerals Pipelines Act 1962 for more stringent punishment for pilferage/sabotage attempts at pipelines.

The various activities planned, including two conferences in association with WPC, were taken note of.
