Energy Think Tank Meeting |
The Chairman of the Energy Think Tank, Mr. T. N. R. Rao, former Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas drew attention of members on the issue of energy security and other key areas of concern at a meeting convened at PetroFed office at PHD House on November 9, 2009.
Earlier, welcoming members, the convenor ETT, Mr. J. S. Oberoi advised members of presentations on Underground Storage in Rock Caverns and the initiatives taken by ASME.
The first presentation on ASME was made by their National Key Accounts Manager, Mr. Sandeep Saxena, who brought out the strengths and opportunities in ASME.
The presentation on ‘Underground Storage in Rock Caverns’ was by Mr. Rajan K. Pillai, CEO, Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited. Mr. Pillai, who earlier set-up underground LPG storage for the first time in the country at Vishakhapatnam, explained the various types of underground storages, the advantage in rock caverns and the challenges in executing such projects.
The members deliberated on issues of concern to be taken up in the next meeting.
