Review of World Energy |
PetroFed in knowledge partnership with BP India, a member company of PetroFed, invited senior executives from the energy sector to the 2009 Review of World Energy by Mr. Christof Ruehl, Group Chief Economist, BP Plc in the evening of August 25, 2009 at New Delhi.
Dr. Prodipto Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, The Energy & Resources Institute and former Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forest delivered the keynote address and chaired the session. The Chief Guest Mr. B.K. Chaturvedi, Member (Energy), Planning Commission, Govt. of India could not attend, being indisposed.
Dr. Ghosh in his keynote address highlighted the disparities between developed and developing economies and implications of various climate change issues.
Mr. Christof Ruehl dwelt in detail on the world energy markets and their impact on global economic development. Mr. Ruehl has been a Professor of Economics with specialization in macroeconomics and monetary economics. His presentation was followed by an extended interactive session where he answered queries in detail.
The over one hundred participants were earlier welcomed by Director General, PetroFed, Sh. A.K. Arora.
A vote of thanks was proposed by Sh. Sashi Mukundan, Country Head (India), British Petroleum India Pvt. Ltd.
