Achieving Operational Efficiencies |
The need for continually enhancing productivity and optimising efficiency, particularly in times of economic downturn, was highlighted by Sh. M.K. Joshi, Director (Technical), Engineers India Ltd., before introducing Mr. William J. Cantwell at a Guest Lecture organised by PetroFed on September 16, 2009 at New Delhi. Advantage had been taken by PetroFed of the brief visit to India of Mr. William J. Cantwell, a member of the Independent Executive Advisory Council (IEAC) for SAP AG, USA and a former Vice President of Supply Chain at Air Products and Chemicals for a lecture by him on 'Achieving Operational Efficiencies in a Turbulent Economic Climate' .
Mr. Cantwell shared his perspective on the technologies that are driving business innovation and how they can be used in today's difficult climate to create global work processes and integrate them into supply chains to improve the company's efficiency and effectiveness. He brilliantly brought out issues of cost reduction without, necessarily reduction in employee strength.
In an extended Q&A session, Mr. Cantwell answered a host of queries and was supplemented by Mr. Anoop Srivastava, Director (Chemicals, Oil & Gas), SAP India in projecting new systems and processes
