In its series of Guest Lectures and Thought Leadership programmes PetroFed organised a lecture on e-Procurement by Mr. Dipankar Chakrabarti, Managing Consultant, PricewaterhouseCoopers at New Delhi on November 6, 2008.
Chairing the session, Mr. S. R. Athawale, Executive Director – Chief MMS, ONGC highlighted the some of the healthy benefits that have accrued to ONGC through e-Procurement initiatives.
Mr. Dipankar Chakrabarti gave a detailed presentation delineating the benefits and challenges for the oil & gas industry in e-Procurement. With a Masters from IIT, Kanpur and over 17 years experience including that of Head of Technology of M Junction Services Limited, the largest e-Commerce platform in the metal sector, he termed it as a information hub to support business planning and decision making which improves performance, increases transparency, eliminates middlemen overhead cost and eases management reporting.
